Dressed in a military uniform, boots, gloves and a lama cap, the Princess of Wales was virtually unrecognizable in camouflage gear at her new official engagement.
The princess has attended a training session
The Princess attended the snowy Salisbury Plain Training in the morning. The Princess of Wales participated in a battlefield casualty drill.
Kate has style, no matter what she wears
Despite this new and unexpected look, Kate has been able to maintain the elegance that always characterizes her. It doesn’t matter if we see her in a ball gown, in a more casual look or dressed like a military woman, the Princess of Wales has a lot of style.
Kate was very involved with the programmed activities
Crouched in the snow, she helped by holding a soldier’s leg while being taught how to dress a wound and how to check a victim’s vitals during this basic first aid training.
The princess assumes her role as Honorary Colonel
Kate Middleton’s appearance marks her first visit to the Irish Guards in her new role as Honorary Colonel, to which she was promoted in December to replace Prince William.
The princess was very interested
Kate showed a lot of enthusiasm throughout the training. She asked about the different first aid methods used by the Army as she tended to the fake wound during the drill.
Training the princess is an honor
It was Lance Corporal Jodie Newell, just 25 years old, who taught first aid to Kate Middleton, to which she declared »I was very nervous. I’m teaching medicine to the Princess of Wales, it’s been an honor.
Kate Middleton took advantage of the day to learn more about the Irish Guards
The princess also learned about anti-vehicle and anti-personnel mine clearance, and learned about the weapon systems used by the Irish Guards. Kate was also able to see first hand the work of members of the battalion that has recently been carried out.
