Letters sent to the Kassems
Just when we thought we had seen it all with the Harry and Meghan documentary and the Prince’s subsequent autobiography, ‘The Mirror’ previewed this week that 32 letters Lady Di sent to the Kassems have been put up for auction. SOURCE: (CHANCE)
One of its most complicated moments
The letters correspond to when Lady Di was living one of the most complicated moments of her life and this can only mean one thing: the People’s Princess is coming back.
Between 1995 and 1996
Sent between 1995 and 1996, it is a compilation of letters written by hand by the Princess of Wales reflecting the ordeal she was going through, at that time, due to her divorce with the now King Charles III.
Lady Di was devastated
«It’s very complicated at times to keep your head up but today I’m in a state of collapse waiting for this divorce to go through, and the cost of it is going to be tremendous,» the newspaper reported earlier this week.
90,000 pounds
They go on auction for about 90,000 pounds, but the truth is that these letters are a diamond in the rough that could reflect the thoughts, sensations, feelings and ideas that Lady Di had in her head at a key moment in her life and in the British monarchy.
Espionage
One of the topics Diana discusses in them is the spying to which she was subjected for years: «As I don’t have a cell phone it is difficult to talk about personal matters as my line is constantly being recorded», in addition to exposing the consequences that the divorce with Prince Charles had for her.
Great responsibility
But why are the Kassems putting these letters up for auction? They say they feel «a great responsibility having these documents» and do not want their children and grandchildren to inherit this burden that could put them in a compromising situation.
February 16, 2023
Thus, on February 16 will go on sale this impressive collection that will shed even more light on the hell that the Princess of Wales lived during the most complicated years of her marriage.
Always present
Diana is back in the media spotlight, although somehow her story has never ceased to be the subject of public interest.
Iconic figure
Through series, documentaries, films and biographies, the life of one of the world’s most iconic figures has been narrated and every time there has been an event in the Royal Family it has been overshadowed by her figure, as with the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Unprecedented Moments
There is no doubt that the spirit of Lady Di is still alive among us and there are still many things to know about the conversations between the princess and this couple of friends with whom she not only unburdened herself, but also revealed unpublished moments that would never have come to light.
