The royal family of the Netherlands dressed up last night for their arrival in Curaçao.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and her eldest daughter, Princess Catharina-Amalia, wore matching crimson gowns for the occasion.
Curaçao
After visiting Bonaire and Aruba, the Dutch royal family will be in Curaçao until Monday next week, after which they will head to Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
A very warm welcome
The monarchs were warmly welcomed in the port of Willemstad by the Governor of Curaçao, Lucille George-Wout.
A day full of visitors
They will start the day with a visit to Brión Square, where Willem-Alexander will initiate registration for the King’s Games, after which local schoolchildren will participate in sports games in the square.
A day full of official commitments
Afterwards, the royals will tour the Otrabanda neighborhood, where they will meet with neighbors and attend musical performances, before having lunch at the Governor’s residence.

In the afternoon, they are scheduled to visit the Punda district, where the 25th anniversary of Willemstad’s declaration as a UNESCO World Heritage Site will be commemorated.

As a tribute to Catharina-Amalia, they will participate in a painting class in which they will paint a ‘chichi’, a traditional Curaçao sculpture representing the eldest and wisest daughter of the family.

After visiting the Scharloo neighborhood, today’s tour will end at the Amalia Bridge. The day will end with a dinner at the Cathedral of Thorns, where the royal family will sit with 21 residents who make valuable contributions to the community.
