As honorary president of the Association of European Journalists, King Felipe VI, together with Queen Letizia were in charge of presiding over the 39th edition of the «Francisco Cerecedo» Journalism Award.

To do so, they went to the Palace Hotel in Madrid where the prize was to be awarded to the journalist specialising in the post-Soviet space, Pilar Bonet. There we were able to witness Queen Letizia’s elegance and style in a new appointment in the official agenda of Their Majesties.

The King and Queen arrived at the hotel and were greeted by those present, spending a couple of minutes chatting before the ceremony began. They were very close and smiling with the rest of the attendees, which gives them an unbeatable image.

After surprising with her recent haircut on Monday 28 November at the Madrid Bar Association’s Women in Law Summit, for this occasion Queen Letizia chose to wear her hair straight and tied back behind her ears, giving prominence to one of her favourite dresses and the jewellery that went with it.

She already dazzled with the Felipe Varela design at the 2018 Princess of Asturias Awards, which she wore again for the 2021 Planeta Awards. The dress has a highly original design and, although risky, it has been a hit on all the occasions on which Queen Letizia has worn it.

She completed the look with a black handbag and her black slingback. For the earrings, she chose a pair of sober black earrings with a slight silver sparkle, totally in keeping with the style and colours of the dress.
