As a modern married couple, King Felipe and Queen Letizia enjoy many leisure plans and getaways together, but also separately. And good proof of this are the respective surprise appearances, miles apart, that both have starred this weekend.
King Felipe VI enjoys one of his favorite sports
The monarch has taken advantage of a gap in his intense institutional agenda to travel to Sierra Nevada and enjoy one of his great passions, skiing. Accompanied by several friends, Don Felipe was seen by the Granada resort with total normality, wasting complicity and closeness both in the aparthotel where he stayed, Trevenque, and in the restaurant where he ate before ending this express getaway to the snow, La Alcazaba.

As revealed by his metre to ¡Hola! magazine, the King tasted a salad of avocado, egg, shrimp and tomato timbale, and another warm salad of spinach, cheese and bacon, to be shared with his three friends, before eating an onion soup accompanied by bread, toasted cheese and grilled cheese.
Women’s sports are once again on the upswing
Little fond of skiing, Queen Letizia chose not to accompany her husband to Sierra Nevada and instead has enjoyed a plan in Madrid with which she has once again demonstrated her support for women’s sports. She has done so by becoming the spectator of honor at the water polo match played this Saturday by the Simalga Real Canoe team against Leioa.

This was revealed by the Madrid club in their social networks, proud of the unexpected visit with which Her Majesty wanted to give visibility to such a minority sport as women’s water polo. Very simple with dark jeans and a pink knitted sweater, Doña Letizia did not hesitate to take a picture with the team officials before signing in the Canoe’s book of honor before entering the pool to watch the match.
A surprise for sportswomen
Afterwards, and with the best of her smiles, the Queen approached the players of both teams, with whom she chatted in a friendly manner and took several photos for the memory. A surprise appearance that highlights the varied interests of the monarch and her commitment to women’s sports.
