50 years surrounded by friends in Madrid
On February 25, Julio José Iglesias turned 50 years old. A round figure that the son of Isabel Preysler and Julio Iglesias celebrated at his home in Los Angeles with his girlfriend, Vivi Domenico, his closest friends and a paella in honor of his native country and now, almost a month later, he wanted to celebrate in style in Madrid.
Enviable genetics
With an enviable genetics that makes him look 15 years younger than he is and that, as he confesses, he has inherited from Isabel Preysler’s mother, Beatriz Arrastia, Julio recognizes that the fullest moment of his life was from 35 to 45, and although now he is going through a very sweet stage at all levels, «once you pass 45 I don’t feel the way I would like to feel».
Very happy with Vivi Domenico
Showering complicity with his girlfriend, the Brazilian model Vivi Domenico, and smiles with the rest of the guests, Julio blew out the candles of his huge rock-themed birthday cake and, with the sympathy that characterizes him, he attended the media and did not hesitate to comment on the delicate moment that his mother is going through, on the defense that his father has made of ‘the queen of hearts’, and on the wedding of the Marquise of Griñón and Íñigo Onieva, incidentally also absent at the party.
A great and exclusive party
A great party held at the exclusive Abascal restaurant and where we could see many well-known faces, such as Alvaro Castillejo, Susana Uribarri, Pepe Navarro, Patricia Cerezo, Teresa Baca or Javier Castillo ‘Poty’ -in addition to his sister Tamara Falcó, who arrived ‘late’ to the birthday because she had to fulfill her professional commitments in ‘El Hormiguero’ – but in which we missed Isabel Preysler, who despite the special relationship she has with her son, preferred not to accompany him on such a special day.
You can’t ask more from life
«To life I can’t ask for more, I have the most important thing which is health, to this day, I have very good friends, very good friends, love, I get along well with everyone, I love sports, I work in a thing that I like, I can’t complain about anything in that sense.»
It is kept that way because of the way it is
«I’m a person who is the way I am and that’s what keeps me that way,» he adds, revealing how lucky he feels at 50 years of age. «The other day I went to play tennis with my friends, for example, and I don’t run what I used to run, I don’t move as well, and the next day everything hurts» he has joked.
His father, better than ever
More and more like his father, the singer said that he has just spent 15 days in Punta Cana with Julio Iglesias and his younger siblings -twins Victoria and Cristina, Miguel and Rodrigo- and that the emblematic artist is feeling «very well». «He is phenomenal, better than ever, that’s true,» he added, confirming that his father is seriously considering singing at the Santiago Bernabeu when the remodeling of the Madrid stadium is finished: «He told me about it and it would be interesting, I would be in the front row because I’m a number one fan,» he said.
Always supports his mother
About his mother, Isabel Preysler, who is going through a complicated time after her controversial breakup with Mario Vargas Llosa, Julio recognizes that «when a couple separates for whatever reason, for whatever reason, man I think it’s a difficult time for both», but he assures that the ‘queen of hearts’ -a nickname that he didn’t know and that has made the artist very funny- is feeling phenomenal: «My mother is very well, she is a person who is like me, she lives life looking at the positive side of things and couples get together and then separate».
