New haircut trends that will be worn this year and that adapt to different lengths and textures, so that no one is left without a new look. January is one of the best months for a new haircut: it is an absolute statement of intent and fills us with renewed energy to conquer all the challenges that lie ahead.
Start by sanitizing your hair
It’s also a good idea to visit the salon to restore vitality to your hair, which is probably stressed out after so many Christmas looks. This will eliminate split ends and strengthen the fiber; a full-fledged reset to start the year off on the right foot. Take note of the three hairstyles that will be on trend in 2023, from our experts!
WOLF CUT
«This is a soft and glamorous version of the iconic mullet, a layered cut with a disconnection between the mid-lengths and ends. As the name suggests, it is inspired by the fur of wolves and, for this reason, the aim is for an untamed, very free and rebellious finish. It is a style that highlights the natural texture of the hair, making it suitable for all types of hair,» explains Mónica Duque, director of Salón Seensay in Santander, Spain.
WOLF CUT
«The bangs and the front contour are used to frame the face, allowing the cut to be personalized to the maximum, while harmonizing the features. We will go for midi or long versions on round or square faces, and shorter and closer to shag in the case of oval or narrow faces,» adds Mónica Duque.
CURLY BEDHEAD
«Wavy and curly textures offer us the perfect base to achieve a very natural and flattering ‘just out of bed’ look. In this case, we’re not looking for very defined curls, but rather slightly undone and overlapping each other,» says Conchi Arias, director of Campos Curlyhair in Granada, Spain.
CURLY BEDHEAD
«It is a look that can be found in all kinds of lengths, although I recommend it especially in its shorter version, with volume in the upper area and the sides closer together, to achieve an effect that is as sophisticated as it is daring,» adds Conchi Arias.
90’S REVIVAL
«The top models of the 90’s are the inspiration for these mane full of volume and presence, worked with brush and blow-dryer. The secret of the look is to add very soft layers, to gain density while maintaining a polished and controlled result. To emphasize this effect, we can comb the ends slightly inward,» says Mª José Llata, director of Llata Carrera Hairdressing Salon in Cantabria, Spain.
90’S REVIVAL
«The side parting is the perfect partner for this type of cut, because it raises the root area and allows us to play with the front strands to create long bangs that enhance the features,» adds Mª José Llata.
