Four days of trial hearings
The High Court in London has opened four days of hearings to examine whether Associated Newspapers, which is also responsible for the »Mail on Sunday,» engaged in illegal activities to gather information for its news stories.
The accusations even include bribery of police officers.
From bugging to bribery of police officers, to illicit access to medical or financial data of celebrities.
First time Harry has been in London since the death of Elizabeth II
Prince Harry, a resident of the United States and outside the official work of the British Royal Household, had not been seen in London since the memorial service for his grandmother, Elizabeth II, in September 2022.
He is not the only one, many celebrities have attended the session.
His name is one of the main attractions of a list that includes other personalities such as singer Elton John, who also attended Monday’s session, actress Liz Hurley, filmmaker David Furnish and businesswoman Sadie Frost.
More than 10 public personalities participate in the hearings
In total, more than ten public figures who last year decided to take Associated Newspapers to court, leading to initial hearings that will determine whether the case goes forward or is shelved.
The company defends its innocence
The company maintains that these are «absurd defamations» by the plaintiffs, reports the BBC.
