Preparations for her departure to Miami began in early November, when after several months of tense negotiations, Shakira and Gerard Piqué reached a separation agreement whereby the singer would leave Barcelona with her children Milan and Sasha to settle in the United States.
The planned date was the beginning of January, so that the children could start school in 2023 at their new school. Something that, in the end, has not been possible because the delicate state of health of her 91-year-old father has caused the artist to postpone her long-awaited move until William Mebarak is strong enough to face the long flight to Miami.
A hard blow for Shakira – who was already counting the days to leave Spain – about which she has not spoken publicly but which has been confirmed this Monday, when we have seen her personally accompanying her little ones to their respective schools on the first day of school after Christmas.
At the moment it is not known when she will resume her plans to move to Miami, but although different sources suggest that she could wait until June for Milan and Sasha to finish the school year in Barcelona, everything is up in the air and the Colombian’s wish would not be to extend her stay in our country so much.
What does seem clear is that, as reported by ‘La Vanguardia’, the agreement signed with Piqué, which was based on the departure of the little ones to the United States and which provided that the ex-footballer could enjoy his children ten days a month, will have to be ‘reformulated’ and ‘renegotiated’ to adapt it to the current circumstances, so that Shakira and the little ones will remain in Barcelona for the time being.
A new agreement that will have to be reached after the singer’s anger with her ex for the participation of her son Milan in a Twitch broadcast that neither she authorised nor was she consulted beforehand. A matter on which we have asked Shakira who, very serious, has avoided pronouncing herself on her last disagreement with Piqué.
